What to expect...
What is worship like?
A typical service will last about one hour. We sing a good mix of contemporary and traditional music that is led by the various musical groups we have at ESUMC. We incorporate various aspects of worship like song, prayer, Scripture, homily, and liturgy. We have communion on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone is welcome to receive communion, and we encourage children to take part as well. We recognize an "Open Table," which means we understand it as God's, not belonging to any particular church or denomination. This means you don’t have to be a member of this church (or any church), or have been baptized. If you have gluten intolerance, please let your server know. We serve grape juice as the fruit of the vine.
What should I wear?
Most people wear what they wear to work or school. Some wear their Sunday best, some are more casual, some wear jeans and a t-shirt. We encourage you to come however you are comfortable.
Where do I go to worship?
You can worship in person or online. There is plenty of parking available on the upper campus, 5151 Argyle Rd. You will be greeted in the sanctuary by one of our assigned ushers. There are activities for children available. You can sit wherever you'd like. If you have any questions, check in the with pastors or ushers.
What should kids do?
We believe that God put the wiggle in children. All of God's children are welcome in worship no matter how much noise they make. There is a special time during worship for those who are young and young at heart. We have sensory toys for those that might be neurodivergent. We are always interested in developing our church to be inclusive to the younger generation!
What should I do if I want to be baptized, confirmed, or become a member?
